So I’ve decided to finally paint my tau army after all this time of fielding GamesWorkshop plastic coloured dudes.
First done is my firewarrior squad. I painted them with a grassland/forest camo in mind as the tau are one of the few 40k armies to make use of camouflage and not “I’m bright blue shoot me!” paint (looks at space marines and eldar).
My paint scheme is as follows: chaos black -> scorched brown dry brush -> knarloc green for the armour -> badab black wash -> camo green highlights. Yes, I am using the old GW paints. When I run out I’ll have to get with the times and buy into the new paint names. Until then I’ll stubbornly shun these fandangled new ones (abaddon black? ffs.)
